Welcome to The Nap Surgery

We encourage all eligible patients to take advantage of the protection that the flu vaccine offers and would encourage patients to have their vaccination administered by a Doctor or Nurse - THE WALK IN CLINICS HAVE FINISHED FOR THIS YEAR, BUT PLEASE RING FOR AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A FLU JAB.

There are many advantages to having your flu vaccination done by your own GP

or nurse:

  • Your GP practice has a copy of your full medical record so is able to best assess

your risk and clinical needs and will be able to record all the details of your

vaccination in your record

  • We can also check other aspects of your health at the same time and even give

you other vaccinations such as against pneumonia if this is clinically needed

  • We can answer any of your clinical questions about the flu vaccination

Your GP practice has been running flu vaccination for many years and is an important and central part of our work to help keep our patients and local community healthy

ONLINE PATIENT SERVICES (EMIS online - Patient Access)

This facility offers all registered patients over the age of 16 years access to repeat prescription ordering, GP appointment booking/viewing/cancelling, and a partial view of your clinical record such as allergies and immunisations.

You can either:

i) register online at - you will be asked for information that must match our records to identify you, we will then receive a system message asking us to acknowledge your request

ii)  ask at reception for further details - we will need to see a form of ID such as a driving licence or passport to verify your identity to register you this way

We have had good feedback from those already using the service, so we hope it will be straightforward and useful to all our patients.

The surgery had its first CQC inspection on 8th June 2016.  We are delighted to say we have been rated 'GOOD' in every area.  More details can be viewed by following this link to the inspection report on the CQC website:

We are very pleased to welcome to our clinical team Dr Prasad Natarajan as an Associate GP. Dr Natarajan is an experienced GP who has recently moved back to the area having spent some time experiencing general practice in Ireland. He will be working on a fulltime basis sharing his time between both our surgeries.

Dr Cemile Maden is now on maternity leave pending the imminent birth of her second child.  We wish her a safe and happy delivery and look forward to her return to practice next year.

Dr Olivia Versluys has now completed her training in general practice and having achieved an excellent result in her exams has now moved on to another practice. However, we welcome back Dr Natasha Atchamah who was with us for 4 months in 2015 and returns to do her final years GP training with us. Also joining us for a final years GP training is Dr Zaufishan Naeem who we are pleased to have with us and together they will be an additional asset to our clinical team.

Access to coded record entries is now available- Please enquire in person at reception for this, as identification will be required.  See latest news for more information

You will have seen in the press that all patients, including children, are allocated a named, accountable GP who is responsible for their overall care.  This is referred to as your 'Usual GP'.    We have run a registered GP list here at the surgery for sometime now and patients are aware of this and the fact that they can choose to see any member of our team if they so wish.     You should be informed of your Usual GP when you register but patients should be aware that you can also check who this is with any member of staff at any time.  We strongly encourage you to see your Usual GP where possible, particularly for on-going problems, so we can provide you with better continuity of care.  If he/she is fully booked, you can ask for an appointment with another Doctor or a Minor Illness Practitioner.  We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests to change Usual GP.

The Accessible Information Standard – known officially as SCCI1605 Accessible Information – is a new ‘information standard’ for implementation by all organisations that provide NHS or adult social care.

Compliance with information standards of this type is a mandatory requirement, including for NHS Trusts and GP practices. This is set out in section 250 of the Health and Social Care Act.

The Accessible Information Standard aims to ensure that people who have a disability or sensory loss receive information that they can access and understand, for example in large print, braille or via email, and professional communication support if they need it, for example from a British Sign Language interpreter.

For full details, follow this link:

There is disabled access at both surgeries.

A letter has been sent to every patient who has previously asked to opt out of the shared care record.  The reason we have written to them is that more of our local NHS providers will soon have the ability to, with your consent, view your GP record when you attend other organisations.  The service that makes this work is called the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG)  there is further information on the Latest News section and New Patient and Records section of our website.  Whilst we understand patients may be concerned, we do hope that this will mean all clinicians have the full picture of your health record whilst trying to treat you.  You will be asked before they can view the record, they cannot alter anything and we are notified when they have accessed the record.  If you have further questions, please speak to our practice manager or Caroline Raut, information governance and communications lead at the CCG e,mail -

We would welcome any patient wishing to join our Patient Participation Group (PPG)  please speak to a receptionist for further details.

With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
