Sexual Health

We are pleased to advise that two of our GP’s and one of our Clinicians have undertaken additional training in sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and can offer expert advice, tests and treatment to anyone who feels they may be at risk.

Family Planning

All our doctors have experience in family planning and are pleased to provide care during normal surgery appointments.

Child Health

We provide care for all children up to the age of five years in conjunction with the health visitors. Regular developmental examinations are carried out and the doctors strongly recommend that children receive all the routine vaccinations when they are due. Appointments are sent out for the immunisation clinics held every Tuesday and Thursday at Kings Langley but you are welcome to attend during normal surgery hours if you find the times are more suitable. They are also available at Longmeadow Surgery by booking a nurse appointment.

Health Check

We offer the NHS Health Check for patients aged between 40 – 74 who haven’t had one in the last 5 years.

Chiropody

We have a private Chiropodist who works from our premises. Please ask the receptionist for details of this service for patients who do not meet the strict criteria for NHS foot care.

Counsellors

We are pleased to have the services of two UKCP registered psychotherapists. Both use our premises to provide a private service for our patients. Your GP will guide you to the most appropriate counsellor to help with your particular problem – relationship, family, bereavement etc., or you can refer yourself. This is a private service and charges will be made by the counsellor. We also have NHS counselling services on the premises, available to our patients only with referral from a doctor.

Cervical Smears

It is advised that all women between the ages of 25 and 65 years have this test. Invitations to attend are sent out routinely to our patients. You will only be eligible for the test if you have received this invitation or if you have missed your invitation. Appointments may be made during normal surgery hours at your convenience. It is helpful if the receptionist is aware of the reason for the appointment, in order that appropriate time may be allocated. Please make an appointment with the nurse for a smear unless you specifically need to see a doctor with a problem.

Hearing Advisory Service

The Hertfordshire Hearing Advisory Service use one of our rooms on a regular basis, usually the third Wednesday of every month between 13:15 & 14:45. This service is for a free basic NHS Hearing aid maintenance, battery exchange, advice, information and practical support.
